Ashlin Mae Kleven

AMK Foundation

AMK stands for Ashlin Mae Kleven who was born with a Genetic Disorder called Rett Syndrome.  Her parents, Eric and Rachel Kleven and her two older brothers, Keaton and Hayden were not aware that Ashlin would be born with Rett Syndrome.  Ashlin also has Scoliosis, which is a sympton of Rett Sydrome.  Ashlin was diagnosed at 13 months by the Surgeons and Staff at Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City.  At the time of her diagnosis, Shriners Hospitals DID NOT require payment for services received at their hospital.  As a way of giving back to such a Charitable Hospital, the Kleven Family started a yearly Charitable Golf Event at Birch Creek Golf Course in Smithfield, Utah where Eric is the Head PGA Golf Professional.  For the past 10 years, the AMK Foundation has donated over $300,000.00 to Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City with the donation going to the Prosthetic and Wheelchair Departments.

The AMK Foundation also sponsors Skiers who participate in the Ski Program hosted by Common Ground Outdoor Adventures in Logan, Utah.  Currently, they are raising money to help Common Ground Outdoor Adventures build a disability facility at Beaver Mountain Ski Area so ALL Children can enjoy the Outdoors with their Families year round.
